I was sitting in the bath the other day and the tub of body moisturiser I had for Christmas caught my eye. It caught my eye because it’s candyfloss pink (nothing else in my bathroom is remotely pink) and for the first time I read the label on the pot and you know what it made me smile:

Genius. Now there’s a copywriter (or team of) somewhere that came up with this pearl so I began wondering if they managed to be so inspired with the whole product range. Today I actually made it to the Soap and Glory website to find out. And you know what they have. There’s Bright Here Bright Now™ Instant Radiance Energy Balm, The Greatest Scrub Of All™ Self-Activating Facial Smoother & Exfoliator and the ever-so slightly risque Sexy Mother™ Pucker Gift Set of Lip Plumping Gloss. I could go on…

But back to the website itself. It’s a fantastic example of a site that oozes personality. It’s retro styling and the tongue in cheek tone is so refreshingly different and totally consistent throughout. To illustrate my point perfectly I hopped over to follow them on twitter and their bio reads:

At Soap & Glory we believe you shouldn’t have to spend an arm and a leg to moisturise one

I love it.They’ve got the social aspect of the site spot on. There are ‘Come Clean’ forums that ask you to confess and the ‘Ask Miss OAP’ is an agony aunt column offering beauty tips and advice. Both things are commonly found on other websites but rarely are they so well thought out and executed – or as well used.

Soap and Glory is a brand that has achieved the holy grail of authenticity and consistency across their whole range of products and online communications. Whatever your touch-point with them you always catch a whiff of their sense of flirtatious fun.
